It is said that the shortage of overseas electrolytic aluminium supply is intensifying. Due to the energy crisis, European aluminium plants have reduced production of electrolytic aluminium by about 800,000 tons.
According to the statistics of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), the European electrolytic aluminium production is 7.47 million tons in 2021, accounting for 11% of the global total. There are currently 36 aluminium plants in Europe, of which 15 are from EU countries, 10 are from EFTA countries, 1 is from the UK and 10 are from Russia. In 2021, the total output of electrolytic aluminium in Europe is 7.468 million tons, second only to Asia, of which Russia accounts for the highest proportion, accounting for about 48% of the entire European electrolytic aluminium production.
