Aluminum Exhibition | Xingren: Building an Aluminum Industry Ecosystem Centered on Electrolytic Aluminum

In 2024, Xingren City achieved a total industrial output value of 26.123 billion yuan from large-scale industries, with the upstream and downstream industrial chain of aluminum and aluminum processing contributing 20.784 billion yuan, accounting for 76.56% of the city's total industrial output value. Among the 52 large-scale industrial enterprises in the city, 14 are engaged in aluminum and aluminum processing, directly providing employment for over 5,100 people and indirectly creating jobs for more than 8,000 individuals. As the work for 2024 concluded successfully, the Xingren City Two Sessions in late February 2025 proposed new industrial goals: "Continue to ensure stable production of 500,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum at Denggao New Materials, actively strive for the transfer of an additional 500,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum capacity, complete and put into operation key projects such as 30,000 tons of aluminum product processing, 250,000 tons of copper-magnesium-aluminum aluminum-based new materials, and 20,000 tons of high-purity aluminum, and commence construction on projects including 100,000 tons of copper-aluminum co-crystalline plate and strip materials and 50,000 tons of color aluminum composite panels, further strengthening the aluminum industry cluster." As a significant base for China's aluminum industry, Xingren City will showcase the robust strength of its aluminum industry cluster to the world through the Aluminum Exhibition.

In recent years, Xingren City has explored the integrated coal-power-aluminum industrial chain through the "Three Strengths" model—"strengthening power supply with coal, strengthening the industrial chain with electricity, and strengthening the industrial structure with aluminum"—steadily advancing on the path of new industrialization and providing a vivid footnote to Xingren's new industrialization. Guizhou Xingren Denggao New Materials Co., Ltd. is the core enterprise of this industrial chain. In 2024, the company produced 481,200 tons of electrolytic aluminum, consumed 6.518 billion kWh of electricity, and generated an output value of approximately 8.427 billion yuan. As the "chain leader" of Xingren's aluminum industry, Guizhou Xingren Denggao New Materials Co., Ltd. has linked over 10 enterprises in the industrial park, forming a complete industrial chain.

Xingren City focuses on chain investment strategies, continuously driving the growth of the aluminum industry cluster, extending the industrial chain, and fostering integration. Centered on the "coal-power-aluminum network+" circular economy industrial chain with electrolytic aluminum at its core, the city has rapidly attracted upstream and downstream industrial projects around Guizhou Xingren Denggao New Materials Co., Ltd. Li Liande, Deputy General Manager of the company, explained, "The electrolytic aluminum liquid produced by our company has a purity of over 99.85% for more than two-thirds of the output, while the remaining one-third has a purity between 99.70% and 99.85%. With an industry standard purity of 99.70%, our high-quality electrolytic aluminum liquid provides excellent raw materials for downstream enterprises to produce various aluminum products."

Around the "coal-power-aluminum network+", Xingren City has introduced supporting projects such as Guizhou Huajun Aluminum Technology Co., Ltd. through efforts to complement, extend, and strengthen the industrial chain. Mao Anji, Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Huajun Aluminum Technology Co., Ltd., stated, "We are just a wall away from Denggao, and by using direct aluminum liquid supply, we not only save on transportation costs but also eliminate the energy consumption and costs associated with secondary melting of aluminum ingots, as well as reducing natural gas usage." Through processes such as melting, casting, rolling, and annealing, the electrolytic aluminum liquid is processed into aluminum-based alloy plates and strips, which are then transported to Ningbo Shenma Group for further processing and widely used in household appliances, architectural decoration, transportation, and other fields.

As a key project under the industrial collaboration between eastern and western China (Zhejiang-Guizhou), Guizhou Huajun Aluminum Technology is invested and constructed by Ningbo Shenma Group. The company is equipped with advanced aluminum casting equipment for melting, casting, rolling, heat quenching, cold rolling, and stamping. It employs a unique integrated casting and rolling production process and stringent process control technologies, primarily producing 3003 series aluminum discs. The products are sold to cities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong, and Shenzhen, and exported to countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Italy. The company has become a high-quality base material supplier for enterprises like Midea, Supor, Joyoung, and Biyate.

Similarly, Guizhou Luxing Carbon New Materials Co., Ltd., an upstream enterprise in the electrolytic aluminum industry, invested in the production of anode carbon in 2020, attracted by the electrolytic aluminum market. Chang Sheng, General Manager of Guizhou Luxing Carbon New Materials Co., Ltd., said, "There are advantages here; the anode carbon produced by our company can be transported to downstream enterprises within a kilometer. With reduced transportation costs, our products are more competitive." Since the planning and construction of the prebaked anode carbon project, the company has fully operationalized its 450,000-ton prebaked anode carbon production line, achieving an output value of over 1.8 billion yuan in 2024. The products are supplied locally to industrial park enterprises and also sold to the southwestern domestic market.

The introduction of enterprises is only the first step; the key lies in whether they can take root and continue to grow locally. In October 2019, Ningbo Shenma Group invested in and established Guizhou Huajun Aluminum Technology in Xingren Development Zone, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of aluminum-based alloy plates and strips and supporting deep processing. In October 2020, Guizhou Longkai Technology Co., Ltd. invested in the production of 1 million wheel hubs annually. Guizhou Aluminum-Based New Materials Co., Ltd. has been producing while constructing, with the first phase of the project completed and put into operation by the end of 2024. Trial production began in January 2025, and the company has already received orders worth 60 million yuan in a short period.

Centered on electrolytic aluminum, Xingren City continues to strengthen its industrial foundation and extend the industrial chain by attracting strong and large enterprises. The city is deeply exploring related supporting industries in energy supply, environmental protection, water resources, and logistics, promoting the aluminum industry towards deep processing and downstream industrial chain extension, and driving the industrial added value of the "coal-power-aluminum network+" industry to new heights.
