Aluminium Expo | Three National Standards for Aviation Aluminum Materials Led by Southwest Aluminum to Be Implemented
According to Aluminium Expo, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the National Standards Committee announced the first national standard notice of 2024, releasing 406 national standards. Among these, three aluminum alloy national standards led by Southwest Aluminum will be implemented starting from October 1st
These include the "General Technical Specifications for Aluminum Alloy Forgings for Aviation" and "General Technical Specifications for Aluminum Alloy Tubes, Rods, Profiles, and Wires for Aviation" as newly established national standards. These standards are applicable to aviation aluminum alloy die forgings, free forgings, and aluminum alloy tubes, rods, profiles, and wires, specifying general requirements, such as dimensions and surface conditions, as well as special requirements like qualification identification and process control. The establishment of these two national standards is crucial for the domestication and internationalization of aviation materials. Their implementation addresses a gap in domestic aviation aluminum standards and has significant implications for enhancing the quality of China's aviation aluminum, breaking foreign monopolies on high-end aluminum alloy materials, achieving independence and control over high-end aluminum alloy materials in China, and supporting the faster and better development of domestic large aircraft.
The "Aluminum Alloy Forgings" standard has been revised based on the original national standard. The release and implementation of the new standard will further improve the overall product quality and technical level of China's aluminum alloy industry, promote the application of new aluminum alloy products, and better serve the upgrading of domestic aluminum and aluminum alloy products and the needs of national key projects.
